Sky Force (2025) is an action thriller based on the events of the Indo-Pak War of 1965. Sky Force Movie 2025 considers the events around India’s first air-strike. It talks about Squadron Leader Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya and OP Taneja and their involvement in the India-Pakistan War where India attacks the Sargodha airbase in Pakistan in retaliation. Sky Force Movie Release Date was falling in 2024 previously but was moved to 2025 due to certain reasons. The Sky Force Movie Teaser video had been made public a long time back and the Sky Force Movie Trailer was released recently but it did not amplify the buzz that much and the response was mixed. A Sky Force New Trailer Release was planned but that did not happen just as Pushpa 2 The Rule.

Soon after Sky Force Movie Advance Booking opened, the film ran offers across all major ticketing platforms making tickets extremely cheap. In fact, social media is flooded with people claiming that tickets were available for as cheap as Rs 25/-. Sky Force Movie Ott release date has not been revealed yet but it definitely deserves a theatrical watch. Does Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force Movie live up to expectations and can it be the first success of 2025 for Bollywood during the Republic Day Weekend? Let’s find out.
The Plot: Conventional but Interesting
Sky Force Movie Director Duo Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur are effective in narrating the story in a gripping manner. Akshay Kumar (Wing Commander Om Ahuja) teams up and plans to retaliate. Something unfortunate takes place and after winning the war, Om Ahuja gets involved in yet another personal mission. The plot is nothing but the description of Pakistan’s attack, India’s retaliation and then Om Ahuja’s personal mission. This is amalgamated with drama, emotions, action and patriotism. It is definitely a no-nonsense entertainer that is very to the point. Sky Force New Poster confirmed its IMAX release promising the big screen spectacle the film is going to be.
Last year, during the same time, Hrithik Roshan had come up with a film titled Fighter that was directed by Siddharth Anand and the film was an underperformer going past the Rs 200 crore nboc mark. But it was the highest grossing non-franchise Bollywood film of 2024. Sky Force has some similarities but that’s limited just to the fighter jets, the technical jargons and some basic aviation related stuff. Some emotions are common but that’s the case with every patriotic film.
The plot is conventional and predictable but the screen-writing stands out. The sequencing of events as the drama unfolds is the biggest merit of the film besides Akshay Kumar’s spectacular performance. If the screenplay and the direction is good then even a familiar plot or story becomes interesting and that’s the case with Sky Force. It is gripping and it really holds your attention right till the end in fact the interval point is a roadblock as the film becomes really interesting.
Akshay Kumar is First Rate but others?
Sky Force Movie Cast involves Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, Sharad Kelkar, Veer Pahariya, Nimrat Kaur, Soham Majmudar etc. Talking about the performances in Sky Force Movie, Akshay Kumar has delivered a memorable performance. His walk, aura, mannerism, dialogue delivery and look: everything is perfect. One of the major reasons behind the appreciation for the film. Sharad Kelkar is phenomenal with a strong presence. Veer Pahariya makes a promising debut but needs to work on certain things and that will develop with time. Nimrat Kaur has a very brief role but makes her presence felt. Sara Ali Khan is fair but her performance could have been a lot better. A better performance would’ve made the film much more emotional and heartfelt. Because she plays the character of one of the most affected people in the film. Nevertheless, the cast has done a good job and the ensemble is good.
The Pluses
The film is serious and that works in its favour. Sky Force Movie 2025 enjoys rich storytelling. It boasts of clarity. The conversation between the soldiers during fights, the jargons are clearly explained and this keeps you involved in the drama. The screen-writing is a merit because it keeps you glued. Despite a basic plot, you keep wondering about what’s going to happen next. Akshay Kumar’s performance in itself is the biggest plus. Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran’s cinematography is commendable and adds a lot to the thrills. Justin Varghese has lent impactful background score and it’s a stand out. Few scenes are elevated to a whole new level due to the BGM. The music is phenomenal through the songs are not popular, they are superb. B Praak adds next level magic to scenes.
What could’ve been better?
The VFX. Of course. Fighter is a clear winner in this department as the visuals were simply outstanding but the Hrithik Roshan starrer was mounted on a much bigger budget and a bigger scale. Sara Ali Khan plays an important character and the performance could have been a lot better. As discussed previously, Geeta Vijaya (Sara Ali Khan) is the most affected person but that does not come out. If that came out well, another .25 star! But it does not disappoint. Next, even though the film is no-nonsense, few scenes seem very rushed. Longer episodes for treating some points would have made it better but the film does not disappoint, when analysed in totality.
