Akshay Kumar starrer Sky Force Bollywood Movie released on the 24th of January 2025. It is based on true events and describes India’s retaliation to Pakistan’s attack. The film enjoyed massive discounts and also early positive reviews by media. Inside Box Office gave a 4 star rating to the film. The film is directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur. It stars Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, Nimraut Kaur and others.
Sky Force had absolutely no buzz due to a conventional and poor trailer cut. There was no central villain in the film and that costed its penetration into the mass circuits, the markets where films run for a long-long period. Unless there is a proper hero and a proper villain, and dialogue baazi between them, there is hardly any urgency created in these smaller circuits. The film is well-made with a few drawbacks. It is also based on a true story so adding commercial elements was a task.
The film opened to extremely dull advances and then the makers had no option but to offer huge discounts. Tickets were sold for as low as Rs 25/- and the there were block bookings too. The low pricing enabled the film to show organic growth on Saturday but the film showed very limited growth on Sunday which is alarming. These tactics work when the film is good but is very bad for the industry. Inside Box Office is into tracking box office since 2009, we got rebranded and made an online appearance recently but the offline work continues with a different brand name and even we were confused to track exact numbers as the bookings have some weird issues. The film is mounted on a big budget and weekday trending is crucial, even if it is the paper format. The numbers are being pushed externally. Though the external help is dropping by each passing day.
The only good thing about the numbers are, that they are bigger than most Akshay Kumar film’s recently, though the organic chunk is a fraction of the total.
