Chhaava released on 14th February 2025 and opened to good or rather excellent response and reviews. Inside Box Office Chhaava Movie Review is positive as the rating is 4/5 from our side. As Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava Movie Advance Booking updates were out, a section of the media tried to showcase these collections as fake or inorganic due to obvious reasons. The media today, if denied interviews or exclusive news breaks, will always do this but it hardly matters as the real power to accept or reject a film lies with the audience. Inside Box Office focuses on circuit-wise tracking so as we have our own sources offline operating with a different brand name. Yes, Chhaava did get a push by bulk bookings but the proportion is a lot lesser than Sky Force. The same media guys who are talking now were silent then. This biased nature of the media needs to be called out.
Inside Box Office admits that there were bulk bookings for both the film and for Sky Force it was immense. A film like Sky Force had huge external support but everyone knows why it was done. In case of films like Chhaava, there is always an element of group bookings due to the fans or devotees. The film is based on Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Sivaji Maharaj and their followers and devotees book tickets out of excitement. The same happened with Adipurush where devotees of Lord Ram had purchased huge number of tickets for distribution. Films like The Kashmir Files, The Kerala Story also had this due to the political angle and free ticket distribution. This has an impact on the collections and is not a fair practice as far as the box office is concerned. External Support will help in perception building only for a brief period and after that it’s all about the content.
Chhaava opened with a strong Rs 29 crore nett approx. The film did gross over $1M from overseas markets on Day 1. If you remove external numbers, it is still a great number for a non-franchise film and about 50% of the numbers are from Maharashtra and Gujarat. The final all India business will also have the same contribution from the Mumbai circuit. Chhaava put up around near $500K from North America, $78K from Australia, $14K from New Zealand, $76K from United Kingdom and Ireland and the remaining from Gulf and other regions.

The film continued its solid trending and it also is the only Bollywood film to score a second weekend of more than Rs 100 crore which is a phenomenon of its own.
