Salman Khan’s latest action filled venture Sikandar released on 30 March. This was supposed to be the comeback film of Salman Khan but it barely touched the trade expectations from the Sikandar advance box office and Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 1. On its release, the Salman Khan starrer faced a really poor reception from the audience and the critics. Sikandar is an action film directed by A.R. Murugadoss on a huge budget of Rs 400 crores, starring Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Prateik Babbar and Sharman Joshi in the leading star cast.
Inside Box Office gave a Sikandar review of 1.5/5 stars, defining it as a poor attempt at commercial filmmaking in all aspects whether it be the performances or the writing of the film. Looking at the current Sikandar Box Office Trends, the box office review of Sunday doesn’t seem to be approaching any appreciable figure and would surely suffer at the box office due to the evident negative reviews for the film all around.
In its initial days of release, the film will be helped majorly by the Eid holiday period. With the high amount of negative reviews for the film, it would barely touch Rs 100 crores India nett in its lifetime just like Salman’s last Eid release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.
The much hyped Sikandar took an opening of Rs 25.50 crores Hindi nett, a disappointing affair for a Salman Khan action entertainer made on a lavish budget also supported by Eid and a Sunday release. With its negative word of mouth kicking in on the weekdays, the Sikandar Day Wise Box Office Collection is sure to see a gradual fall coming up.
Sikandar opened to a highly average response in the overseas territories too which are currently being ruled by the blockbuster run of Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan. The film collected $___ on its opening day. Though a hype in the crowd on the occasion of Eid is expected in Gulf or Middle East regions, the Sikandar Box Office Collection Day Wise in the later days won’t be enough to make the film an overall success.
