Driven by this connection, Francis realizes he shares a bond with the warrior, whose story carries a powerful legacy of bravery and sacrifice.

The narrative then shifts, transporting viewers to the ancient kingdom of Pranava Kona, where Kanguva himself, bound by a solemn vow to protect his clan and a young boy, stands against ruthless forces. It’s here that Bobby Deol’s Udhiran, the fierce leader of a rival tribe from the year 1078, takes the spotlight as a deadly adversary obsessed with conquest and power. The film immerses us in a world of five distinct clans spread across islands, each of them drawn into Udhiran’s deadly quest for dominance.

Though the first 30 minutes of Kanguva suffer from outdated humor and Suriya’s exaggerated portrayal of Francis, the film takes on a grander, more engaging tone as it shifts to its historical core.
