Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa 2 The Rule is set for record breaking start at the box office as the anticipation is sky-high. Pushpa The Rise (Part 1) had released in 2021 and did good numbers and topped ticket sales for the year beating all films with 50% Occupancy in Key Markets. Inside Box Office will cover all the Pushpa 2 The Rule advance booking updates from time to time and will also drop updates on Pushpa 2 The Rule budget, Pushpa 2 The Rule hype and Pushpa 2 The Rule screen-count etc.
Pushpa The Rise had a climax featuring Icon Star Allu Arjun and Fafa Fahadh Faasil and their confrontation and how Pushpa marries Srivalli. It leaves the audience curious as to how can an arrogant police officer like Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat not do anything about Pushpa’s attitude and his arguments. Pushpa as a character is loved by many for his swag, attitude, massy dialogues and high on testosterone presentation while Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat also has his fan base due to his appeal of a strong opponent. Srivalli is also a favourite due to the humour and confidence she brings on screen and completes Pushpa as a character.
The Rise and now the Rule
Pushpa The Rise (Hindi) had released in less than a thousand screens in North but later the count went up to 1400 and then eventually 1600 with business coming in for a long time. Now talking of Pushpa 2 The Rule, it will target 4500+ screens in North which means the infrastructure is huge and it only needs a good word of mouth to register an all-time opening day record at the box office. While these are estimates, it is the programming based on the advance booking momentum that will determine the final screen count for the biggie but this is what the target is as of now. In worldwide context, Pushpa 2 The Rule release will be wide and would target 10,000 screens across the globe which is again a massive number. The makers have confirmed an IMAX Release and are looking for a 3D release too which shall be locked soon.
Domestic Advance Booking
While Pushpa 2 The Rule advance booking in India is yet to commence, the massive surge in interests on popular ticketing platforms like Book My Show and PayTm is proof that the initial rush would be high. Not just this but the enquiries tracked through sources are big and was probably last seen during the release of KGF Chapter 2. With all this set aside, there is a New or rather Second Pushpa 2 The Rule Trailer that is expected to be out soon, probably next week or so which will also play a key role in driving more awareness and anticipation. If with all these things going in favour, the Pushpa 2 The Rule Review(s) are positive, an unheard and unexpected opening will be a cake walk.

The South Overseas Box Office
Normally, the overseas advance booking gives you an idea of what can be expected out of domestic advance booking in terms of rush. We have compiled a list for overseas box office numbers and the highlight here is that till date only 8 films from the South Indian Cinema have been able to cross $20M overseas with Baahubali 2 The Conclusion being at the top. Baahubali 2 The Conclusion was a beast and had grossed $46.98M originally. With its re-release in non-traditional overseas markets, the total is a phenomenal $60.7M which looks out of reach for any South film in true sense but a film with really strong content and credible franchise value can target it in near future provided the second phase release is there which means re-release in non-traditional overseas markets.
Here is a list of Top Overseas Grossers from South with $20M+ Gross
1. Baahubali 2 The Conclusion $60.7M
2. RRR $45.45M
3. Kalki 2898 AD $31.95M
4. KGF Chapter 2 $27.15M
5. Leo $24.2M
6. Jailer $23.7M
7. 2 Point 0 $22M
8. Ponniyin Selvan $20.5M
The above list consists of re-release figures too. If we remove those and consider only Phase 1 original release then Baahubali 2 The Conclusion would be $46.98M, RRR would be 27.4M, KGF Chapter 2 would be $27M and the others would be unchanged. Now talking about, Pushpa 2 The Rule, it definitely has a chance to enter this list but a lot will depend on public reception, word of mouth and content which will only be revealed on Pushpa 2 The Rule release date. I will do a separate article for predictions and projections, because that is a different case but we can discuss about how things are looking as of now.

Overseas Advance Booking Update
Pushpa 2 The Rule bookings in USA opened a while ago and total North America bookings for the premiers are near $1.35M mark and it seems like the film will join the likes of Kalki 2898 AD, RRR, Baahubali 2, Salaar in terms of opening. The Hindi version is also picking up not just for premiers or day 1 but for the overall weekend. Talking about Australia, HOYTS , the main chain has sold tickets worth near A$100K alone across all versions which denotes a bumper start. If all goes well and if the momentum is sustained, Pushpa 2 The Rule could very well be among the Top 3 All Time openers, the spots are currently held with Baahubali 2 The Conclusion (A$825K), RRR (A$702K) and Pathaan (A$566K) in the region. If the film was a Friday release, the walk-ups or spot bookings would have been higher but because it a Thursday release, conservative projections are better. Coming to the UAE, the film is set for a big start. VOX, the main chain sold around 2.2K tickets across all languages for opening day including premiers with Hindi version outpacing other versions on Day 1. The premiers saw a huge surge as far as the Telugu version is concerned within a few hours of the shows getting listed.
The film is having good queries in the South East Asian markets while in UK and Ireland the bookings are going strong. All these markets listed in the article have 11 to 12 days to go for premiers/Day 1 to arrive and have lesser shows and locations so far. The numbers are bound to go up as there are more shows and screens to be listed. There is song a titled Kissik which is about to be released featuring Sreeleela and Allu Arjun. Allu Arjun is famous for his dance moves and if this clicks, another surge is expected. Also, the new Trailer reception could also spice up things. In a market like Germany, Pushpa 2 The Rule has sold 450 tickets across all languages for the premiers alone. If clubbed with day 1 and weekend advance numbers, it could topple full run footfalls and collections of most Tollywood titles in the advance booking stage itself. The film is moving towards the $2M mark in terms of advance booking overseas for opening day including premiers.
To sum things up, the good news is that the Hindi audience primarily in North America, Gulf, UK etc are more involved in spot bookings and if the advance bookings for the Hindi version are surging, it means that a storm is coming. Coupled with positive word of mouth, sky is the limit. And for the longer run and a bigger total, it is the Hindi version that matters as the market is huge and a better business in Hindi circuits means that lifetime collections could be huge. One more observation about the film is that it is trending like a proper Pan India film which means there are bookings across languages. Which again says that the India bookings are going to be more or less in the same manner.
